Ocean Roamers brings practical marine industry experience to consulting, operations management and project development. We work with diving businesses, marine tourism operators and project partners to assess opportunities, address operational challenges and turn ideas into workable plans.

Our focus

A successful marine tourism business depends on more than its location. It needs sound operations, capable people, a clear commercial offer and responsible management of the environment on which it relies.

Our work connects these elements through three service areas:

  • Consulting & Strategy: assessing businesses, destinations and development opportunities, identifying priorities and defining practical courses of action.

  • Operations & Management: supporting operational setup, procedures, team development and the day-to-day delivery of services.

  • Project Development & Delivery: developing concepts, coordinating planning and supporting implementation, with responsibilities defined for each assignment.

Experience behind the work

Ocean Roamers was founded by Henri Hemmerichs, a professional diver, captain and consultant in the marine tourism industry.

His experience combines work on the water with business operations and destination development. In Sudan, this included co-managing marine parks and training rangers—work that brought together recreational diving, marine protection and the practical challenges of managing remote destinations.

That field perspective informs our approach: recommendations must account for local conditions, available resources and the people responsible for putting them into practice.

How we work

We begin by understanding the assignment: what the client wants to achieve, what already exists and what stands in the way.

From there, we establish priorities, define the scope and develop a practical plan. Depending on the engagement, our role may extend into implementation, operational support or ongoing management.

Clear responsibilities matter. Each assignment should identify the work to be delivered, the resources required and how progress will be assessed. Where specialist partners are involved, their roles form part of that scope.

Responsible development

The marine environment is central to the long-term value of marine tourism. Its condition affects visitor experience, business continuity and the livelihoods connected to a destination.

We therefore consider environmental stewardship alongside commercial and operational decisions. The aim is to develop services and projects that can function economically while contributing to the responsible use of marine resources.

Working with Ocean Roamers

We welcome enquiries from operators seeking to improve an existing business, partners developing a new venture and organisations addressing wider destination challenges.

Whether the starting point is an operational problem or a development opportunity, the first step is to establish the need and define a useful scope of work.
